We had a busy weekend. Abbie and I went to the health club on Sunday. Abbie loves the kids club. She played with lots of kids and toys. She still didn't want to leave, even after an hour and half. When I told her that we were going to the mall though, she changed her mind. I let her walk into the mall for the first time, no stroller. That was actually a big deal for us both. She did really well. We had lunch in the food court (stupid for me since I had just run 3.5 miles) and then we shopped at old Navy. Thank goodness they had a table with crayons for her entertanment. I found a few t-shirts for her but, honestly its nearly impossible to find anything to fit her these days. That's become pretty frustrating for me. More on that another time.
PJ and I took the kids to an open gym hour at a gymnastics place. They do open gym for kids her age where they run around and play with big balls or jump on a trampoline or play in a huge foam ball type pit. I actually thought that it was going to be a tumble class but it turned out to be way more chaotic than I would like. We left a little early. There were way too many one and two year olds who all wanted to be on the one trampoline. Some parents were not being considerate with the long line and Abbie never really got a chance to have her turn. Two year olds and waiting in line do not mix well.
When Daddy saw how much fun Abbie had with the trampoline he decided to add a bounce house to our back yard play area. She loves it! Thankyou Daddy!
Abbie does lover her markers. This video proves it. Once again she she colors onto the table and so discretly covers it up. The picture that she drew before this one is of Mommy, Daddy, Abbie and Sammy. You'll notice 4 circles with dots. The dots are our eyes and nose and you may even see smiles. I'm sure she will be an artist.
The bounce house proved to be a big hit. We got it just in time for the return of good weather too. We're coming out of another cold snap. This week we'll have highs near 80! Makes me want to set up the pool. Okay, well we may have to wait a little while still for that but, boy will we have a fun back yard this summer. Next is the sand box and hopefully a fence.
Kids do love to bounce!
Here's another example of Abbie's vivid imagination. She uses her bowling pins as a microphone. No joke - I had nothing to do with this, she figured it out on her own. Now everyday after we bowl she has to do an interview with me. I sound a little dorky on the video but, honestly she caught me off guard. I didn't know what to say with that microphone shoved in my face.
Abbie loves her brother Sammy!
