Spring time in Florida = ALLERGY SEASON!!!!

The kids and I are all dealing with seasonal allergies -ugh! I haven't had allergy problems for years, usually only when I go home to Maine. I never had this problem in Key West, but this area is so much more green and the flowers are blooming everywhere. It's beautiful, but painful...

Abbie has had 4 ear infections since February and is now seeing an ENTspecialist. Looks like she'll have her adenoids out and plugs put in some time soon, possible may. She has been blessed with seasonal allergies (just like the rest of us). The congestion from her runny nose has been backing up into her ear canal causing the infections. Since she has the allergies chances are this will continue. The surgery is the best option for her at this point. Plus I really don't want her on antibiotics any more than she has to be, she is now on her 4th round since February. Sam is having allergy issues too. Too bad for him though since he can't take anything for it. Poor little guy...

Sam is almost 4 months and growing so fast. He's trying to cut his first teeth. He's drooling all the time and always has his fist in his mouth. He's rolling over a lot and hates to be on his back. He wakes up more at night now just because he's rolled over. He's still in our room at night and sleeps in the big crib in Abbie's room for naps. As soon as he can sleep through the night he'll be in her room. Lately our hallway is like a super highway after midnight. It seems like every time I get Sammy settled in Abbie gets up. They're actually taking turns. That may sound nice but it's not. It essentially leaves me with very little sleep. I almost never sleep more that 2 hours at a time. The good news is that Abbie makes it to 7am almost every day now instead of 5:30. I told her that she needs to stay in bed until the sun is awake. I guess it's working.

I'm still trying to get to the health club at least 3 times per week. If it were up to me I'd be there everyday, but it's a little overwhelming for the kids. I can't get Abbie interested in it 2 days in a row and some days Sammy gets off track with awake and sleep times. If he's too grumpy I have to put him back to bed. They only offer kids club in the morning so we have to be there before 11am. Surprisingly enough it's tough to get the three of us ready in time to go. Most days I feel like I've had my workout before I even get there. On our off days I try to get us out for a run with the jogger. Abbie loves to be at home but she needs to get out with other kids a few a days a week. I met a lady with a son Abbie's age and we try to meet up for park play dates at least once a week. Abbie loves him, his name is Carson and she talks about him all the time.

I try to remember some of the things Abbie says and does because she's just so funny right now, but when I try to write it here I forget. She's still really into her pretend kitchen and her outside toys. We've been doing play dough and other activities when Sam is sleeping. We're working on expanding the activity closet so that we have plenty of things to do. We try to color with crayons but honestly she's more into organizing them than actually coloring. She has some activity books with shapes, colors numbers etc. She really likes those. She talks about playing checkers all the time, she must have seen it in a cartoon. She'll take her letters off the fridge and pretend they are checkers and make me sit on the floor to play checkers. Looks like we need to get a checkers game. She has a Pet Shop Parlor (Doll House) that she loves. She gives the animals baths, feeds them and puts them to bed. It's cute and I'd like to expand on it with other things from the collection. They have other businesses and vehicles too. She's also been playing with her dolls again. She likes to change them(or just strip them really). She calls them her sisters, her brother and Josh.

Oh ya I just remembered - PUZZLES! She loves to put together puzzles and she's really good at it. We have a mickey Mouse puzzle that goes together with shapes- Hearts, stars, squares etc. She's almost mastered it.

Here are some pictures from the past few weeks ~ Enjoy!
