She fell asleep in the...

Rocking chair!

Abbie had a rough afternoon as far as napping. I put her down tired at 1:00 but she decided to play in the crib and not sleep. I layed down in my bed exhausted and figured that she would just go to sleep eventually. Lately that's how it's been, she talks for a while and after about 30 mins she's asleep. Not today! I heard her crashing around in the crib and could hear the books come out (she can reach them from the pocket on the side of the rocking chair). Next thing I know I hear her bedroom door open and then my bedroom door open and in she walks - "Hi Momma, Dora-boots?" (she had on Dora PJ's). So, this is the first time that she actually climbed out of the crib. After that, I let her just play for awile, knowing that she would sleep when she was tired enough. Finally she started flopping down on the floor whinning and I knew she was tired. I told her to get into her big girl bed and that her blankie was in there. She walked into her room. I gave her 10 minutes before checking on her - this is what I found.

Honestly, I thought for sure that she would be in the bed. After snapping a few pictures (of course) I put her in the crib and she's sleeping soundly. My crazy kid! It's something new every day.
Yesterday was my Dr. appt and today was Abbies. My appt was fine, everything is right on track. Nothing new to with the pregnancy, other than the fact that I am totally over being pregnant. I can't even imagine how some women do this 12,13, 16, 18 times! Not me. I'm ready to have my body back and get running! I'm tired of being tired, moody, hormonal!
Abbie's appt was great. I'm so happy to have a real pediatrician now instead of the Navy doctors that we had in KW. She was very personable and had good advice. The office was nice, with toys and books for Abbie. She is still off the growth charts, of course, we knew that anyway. She weighed in at 39lbs and she's 39 1/2 inches. I've been concerned with her weight, but the doc says to be sure she's getting healthy meals and snacks, stay away from sugary drinks and promote water as much as possible. That's what we've been doing anyway. She's just a big, healthy kid. The doctor was also impressed with her speach. She was naming off colors and letters. She even told the doctor that mommy washed her hands in the sink, she's giving me up already! She was, as usuall very active and had the room torn apart before the doctor ever arrived and was ready to move on to the other rooms.

Daddy took down the pool this week. It was nice having it when the weather was so hot this past summer. Now, the evenings are cooler and it's nice for Abbie to run around out back. She has her car and tricycle and slide. But, as you know she's just as happy cleaning up the limes and playing in dirt/mud patches.

It's banana season! One of the branches fell down from being so heavy with bananas and the next bunch is getting ready to go. We gave some of this bunch to the neaighbors and we're going to start eating some too. Looks like Abbie and I will be making banana bread again soon.

That's it for today. I'll leave you with some videos. We got some fake food to go with the little kitchen, so that's been her big thing this week. She goes grocery shopping as soon as she gets up in the morning and cooks all day long - Abbie, the happy home maker!
